New Machin definitive stamps Special Delivery service - 26 October 2010

To satisfy an operational demand at Post Office counters, Royal Mail has produced two new definitive NVI stamps for Special Delivery letters up to 100gr and up to 500gr.  These will be useful for business users who send high volumes of special delivery letters, and should save processing time.

From the collecting point of view, it will be interesting to see just how quickly these appear on the market as properly commercially used examples.  The similar Recorded Signed For stamps issued last year have not been very plentiful.  Likewise for first day covers, should you collect both stamps on one Royal Mail fdc with a special handstamp, or single stamps on either FDCs, plain envelopes or Royal Mail Special Delivery envelopes, with the proper bar-code labels and operational counter date stamps?
